Behavior Assessment

Students' behavior is one component that influences learning. Sometimes, one's behavior and academic performance coincide. Functional behavior assessment (FBA) is a tool teachers can use to evaluate students' conduct and determine how it affects learning. In a tailored approach to dealing with student concerns and behavior, called functional behavioral assessment, an examination is conducted to ascertain the origin or purpose of problematic actions (Mathematica Policy Research, 2016). Some students exhibit social habits as a result of their academic difficulties. Solving the problem by evaluating students' actions and offering interventions is possible. Students that perform below average have reserved personalities, snap at the wrong times, and lack elegance and tolerance (Said et al., 2018). Average students remain composed under pressure, exude confidence, and show grace and patience.

Students with learning disabilities and poor social skills may exhibit behavioral problems in the classroom (Said et al., 2018). Teachers can assist such pupils by offering interventions and programs for behavior evaluation. Some of the students in my class chat excessively and engage in play throughout the entire lecture. Some pupils arrive late for class and school rather frequently. To motivate students to act appropriately, teachers can use an incentive system. Students can receive rewards for behaving well and get a chosen benefit/item from a list of options after acquiring the points set by the teacher. Each student must get incentive reward cards, which can be posted in the classroom.

In some schools, students who arrive late are given detention and must attend an after-school tutoring program, and those who arrive on time are given prizes. Having a data wall that tracks student development in the classroom allows them to view their test results and know when they score below standard requirements. This information will help students to make decisions concerning their academics. Another method for dealing with challenging kids is to meet with the parents to discuss the student's interests and dislikes and figure out how to include them in the classroom. For instance, I once had a student who was involved in extracurricular activities and was not performing well in class. After a parent discussion, the student's academic talents were used, which improved conduct and performance.
